Workshops on abstract art at Kunsthalle Helsinki

An art workshop inspired by Lars-Gunnar Nordström's exhibition

Lars-Gunnar "Nubben" Nordström is Finland's foremost constructivist and a pioneering figure in abstract art: he was the first artist to hold an exhibition of abstract art in Finland.

Kunsthalle Helsinki now invites middle and high school classes to book an art workshop inspired by the Nubben 100 exhibition. The class visits will start with a tour of the exhibition and continue with the workshop. The workshops will utilise Nubben’s own methods of creating abstract paintings using the collage technique. Jazz was a great passion of Nubben’s and will serve as the soundtrack for our art workshops.

Duration: 60 minutes. Languages: Finnish / Swedish / English.

The workshop is suitable as part of the visual arts curriculum. The addressed themes include abstract art, modernism, sculpture, Finnish art, architecture, music, and rhythm.

The workshop has been created in cooperation with foundation Pro Artibus.

Inquiries and bookings: opas@taidehalli.fi

The workshops will be held from 1–12 April 2024, on weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm.

Price: €60
