FINAL REHEARSAL: Fontane di Roma

Alan Buribajev & Andreas Brantelid
Fri 10.1.2020 10:00
Andreas Brantelid
Kuvaaja: Marios Taramides
Tchaikovsky travelled with his brother Modest to Rome in 1880 and was inspired by the city’s soundscape: the carnivals, the animated locals, even the fanfare of the cavalry that could be heard through his hotel window in the morning. It is very possible that the composer admired the same fountains that inspired Ottorino Respighi to compose his tone poem a few decades later.

Alan Buribajev, conductor
Andreas Brantelid, cello

Gioachino Rossini: La Cenerentola (Tuhkimo), overture
Pjotr Tšaikovski: Rococo Variations

Pjotr Tšaikovski: Capriccio Italien

Helsingin kaupunginorkesteri

Vuonna 1882 perustettu Helsingin kaupunginorkesteri tarjoaa konsertteja Musiikkitalossa ja mahdollisuuden sukeltaa sinfoniaorkesterin maailmaan. Vuosittaisten 70–80 Helsingissä järjestettävän konsertin lisäksi orkesteri tekee säännöllisesti ulkomaankiertueita, joista ensimmäinen suuntautui Pariisin maailmannäyttelyyn kesällä 1900. Monet kaupunginorkesterin levytykset ovat saaneet kansainvälisiä palkintoja. HKO:n ylikapellimestari on Susanna Mälkki.
